Senate Minority Floor Leader Stuart Ingle has served as a State Senator since 1985. He serves Senate District 27 in Eastern New Mexico that includes portions of Chaves, Curry, De Baca and Roosevelt counties. Senator Ingle was elected as Floor Leader in 2000, 2002 and again in 2004. Before that, he was elected Senate Minority Whip and Senate Republican Caucus Chair.
During the Legislative Session, Senator Ingle serves on the following committees: Corporations and Transportation, Rules, Committee's Committee, and Water and Natural Resources.
In between sessions, during the interim, Senator Ingle serves on various committees, including the Legislative Finance Committee and the Legislative Council.
Ingle, who volunteers his time as a State Senator, is a farmer in Southeastern New Mexico who grows mainly wheat and sorghum. He was born in Clovis and raised in Portales. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and Nutrition from Oklahoma State University.
The Senator is the father of two daughters, Jennifer, a medical doctor at the University of Texas hospital in San Antonio and Laura, a CPA in Dallas.
