Senator John M. Sapien has been in the New Mexico Senate since 2009, representing District 9 which includes Sandoval County.

Sapien serves on the Coporations and Transportation Committee and the Education Committee. He also is involved with various organizations including, Kiwanis Of Corrales, Compadres of Corrales, District 8 Little League Baseball, New Mexico Central Workforce Board of Directors and the Stat of New Mexico Workforce Board.

He owns and is an agent for State Farm Insurance Agency and interned for the Office of United States Senator Jeff Bingaman. He received a BBA in Finance from the University of New Mexico.

Senator Sapien is married to his wife Veronica Sapien and they have two children, Alejandro and Alicia.
