Bingaman to host student institute

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Sen. Jeff Bingaman is set to host his annual Student Leadership Institute at New Mexico State University.

The New Mexico Democrat is scheduled to host his annual event Wednesday.

The institute with New Mexico high school students is designed to encourage their interest in public policy. Bingaman's top policy advisers will engage students in discussions on ways to advance education, economic growth and other issues related to New Mexicans.

Bingaman is scheduled to hold a question-and-answer forum at NMSU's Corbett Center Auditorium and will visit Arrowhead Early College High School.
