LOS LUNAS, N.M. (AP) — Three candidates have been recommended to Gov. Susana Martinez for possible appointment to a vacant district court judgeship in Los Lunas in the 13th Judicial District.
Los Lunas lawyers Walter Hart III and Geoffrey Nims and Belen attorney James Lawrence Sanchez were endorsed as candidates by a judicial nominating commission on Thursday.
The vacancy on the district court was created by last month's resignation of District Judge John Pope, who failed a random alcohol test while on judicial probation for alcohol-related problems.
