ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) — Mayor R.J. Berry, representatives of teen court, APD and Target are working together to make our community safer.
They reminded people today that May 12th is Public Safety Day.
As part of the event representatives from the police, and fire departments and the military will be available for young people to talk to.
It is an opportunity for them to see how they do their jobs.
For some it might be the beginning of a career.
”Several kids have shown an interest in the military and in the fire department coming through our program, so we are trying to encourage them to continue with education and to stay out of trouble and they'll be having a great career,” Tawnya Richards said.
This is the 4th Annual Public Safety Day and will be held at the Target on Paseo Del Norte and I-25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
