First lady Michelle Obama is set to be in Albuquerque on Tuesday to visit with military families and go to a big fundraiser at the Los Poblanos Inn and Cultural Center.
It's not the first time Los Poblanos has been chosen as the site for a political event.
The inn and organic farm is touted as an historic New Mexico hot spot with lavender fields and renown architecture. It's also been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Officials with the inn say it's word of mouth that has gotten publicity out into the public about what they have to offer. It's also events like the first lady's visit that are really good for a local business like Los Poblanos
"We were happy to be selected as the location by the New Mexico Finance Committee," says Los Poblanos Executive Director Matthew Rembe. "We're selected for lots of these types of events from both parties, from both republicans and democrats alike, but to have the first lady here is a great honor."
The first lady is set to touch down in Albuquerque from Las Vegas, Nevada around 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, followed by the fundraiser at Los Poblanos at 2:30 p.m.
