ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) — Central Avenue remains closed downtown after a package received at Sen. Tom Udall's office prompted a scare and police and fire response.
The situation has been resolved, according to a Udall staffer, although police and fire units remain on the scene in the 200 block of Central Avenue SW.
Apparently the package arrived with a stain on it that raised suspicions about it's contents, the staffer said.
The incident began about 3:15 p.m.
At 4 p.m. an Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson said no hazardous materials had been found and that Central was expected to reopen shortly.
